Dexxer templates generally refer to templates that use Tactics and one of the weapon skills to damage enemies. This archetype usually tanks damage and dodges monster abilities where it can. Dexxers are not very strong in the early game, and it is not recommended to select a dexxer as your first template. Dexxers become viable around the mid-game, at approximately 15-20 links, and become powerhouses at endgame.
Dexxer Basics
The following skills must be levelled to maximum on every dexxer template:
- Tactics - This works as a base modifier for your damage and you cannot function without it.
- Chivalry - This skill is simply too powerful to ignore in any scenario.
After these two skills, you have some choices to make.
Your first two goals are:
- Reach the Swing Speed cap of 50%
- Reach 100% accuracy
This will be done through a combination of your Codices, Aspect, Skill points and Mastery Chain links.
After you have achieved these two goals, you can begin finding ways to increase your damage or adding your preferred utility.
Here are some skills that you are likely to take:
- Weapon skill of Mace Fighting, Swordsmanship, Fencing, Wrestling or Archery - you must take 80 points for your weapon codex, however it is possible to take 100 for extra accuracy.
- Healing and Anatomy - 80 points in both these skills gives access to the Healers Codex
- Parrying - 80 points in this will give you access to the Parry Codex, which will greatly improve your survivability.
Here are some options that you can take to fill out the remaining skill points on your template:
- Focus - Remaining skillpoints can be used on focus to gain swing speed an accuracy. This is a great skill if you don't have high aspect level or many links.
- Tracking - Taking tracking is a great way of avoiding murderers. If you are dying to reds often, take this.
- Resisting Spells - This will give you the option to fight back in PvP scenarios. It will also increase your swing speed and damage resistance.
- Camping - This will increase the amount of gold and loot that you can carry per run. This is great if you are strapped for cash and want to decrease the amount of time you spend travelling in and out of dungeons.
- Arms Lore - This is a good way of increasing your damage as well as providing a small amount of swing speed.
- Alchemy - This can increase your quality of life and your DPS by allowing you to throw exploding potions.
