This page details changes to the Strangelands event introduced with the Wildlands Expansion (May 19, 2024).

Seasonal Maps

  • Strangelands now features two unique Maps, changing each Season (potential for more maps in the future).

Gameplay Changes

Creature Difficulty

  • Combat ability of Creatures and Stranger NPCs moderately increased.

Dirty Water

  • Rainfall may occur as "Dirty Water".
  • Harvestable as normal.
  • Consuming restores 10 Thirst but permanently reduces ALL player Stats and Skills by -1.

Tainted Meat (Previously Diseased Meat)

  • Diseased creatures drop Tainted Meat.
  • Consuming restores Hunger but permanently reduces ALL Stats and Skills (-2 for Medium Meat, -3 for Large Meat).
  • No longer applies Disease effect to the player.

PvP Mana Refunds

  • Players Flagged in PvP within the last 15 seconds have Mana Refund Chances reduced to 25% of normal.

Template Upgrades

Stat and Skill Upgrades

  • Elixirs of Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence now only increase the related Stat by +1.
  • Skill Manuals now only increase the related Skill by +1.

Template Overhaul

  • Three new templates introduced: Gladiator, Scavenger, Swashbuckler.
  • All existing templates rebalanced (Starting Stats/Skills/Gear). Specific starting item effects adjusted:

Assassin

  • Herb Bundle: Provides delectable food bonus.

Barbarian

  • War Horn: Usable item. Maximizes melee hit damage rolls for 15s (2 min cooldown, unlimited uses).

Bard

Battlemage

Crusader

  • Grail Chalice: Collecting rainwater grants x2 points and restores 4 holy symbols.

Deathmage

  • 3 Control Slots Allowed.
  • Poison Vials: Provides nightshade for upgrading poison spells.
  • Spirits Guide: Increases Magery by 20 when casting summon spells.

Engineer

Swashbuckler

  • Swashbuckler Rope: Adventurer's Rope with 30s cooldown. Usage grants +50% Damage / +25% Damage Resistance for 10s (bonuses halved vs players).

Tunnel Rat

  • Blasting Powder: Usable item. Inflicts 125-250 damage to supply containers (1 min cooldown, unlimited uses).
