==Summary==
When a [[Housing|House]] is due to collapse due to not being refreshed, commonly referred to as '''IDOC''' (In Danger of Collapse), there are now two possible outcomes.
When a [[Housing|House]] would collapse due to not being refreshed (IDOC - In Danger of Collapse), there are now two random possible outcomes for the house:
* 50% Chance the House has a normal IDOC handling, after which it is Deleted, and an '''Items Collection Lottery''' occurs (i.e. our current handling)
* 50% Chance the House Remains in Place, but is placed up for '''House Ownership Lottery''', with all Items inside the house Deleted

Houseboats will now always go up for lottery, i.e. they will never collapse
There is a '''50% chance''' that the house will follow the traditional IDOC process, where it is deleted, and an '''Items Collection Lottery''' occurs. Alternatively, there is a '''50% chance''' that the house itself remains standing and enters a '''House Ownership Lottery''', though all of its contents are permanently deleted.

* Single-click the NPC and select '''Buy'''

==Items Collection Lottery (House Deletion)==
Each House Decay Lottery lasts '''seven days''', allowing players to purchase tickets throughout the duration. Tickets are available for '''1,000 gold each''', or a '''bundle of 10 tickets for 10,000 gold'''.
This is the "current" handling for House Decay: a randomized 15-60 minute IDOC window occurs, and upon completion the house is Deleted (and players can place a new house at the location after a random delay following that). Upon the house being Deleted, the following happens:

* 34% of the Items previously in the house (always including Storage Shelves) are added into an "Items Collection Lottery"
The lottery menu provides details on each active lottery, displaying the '''total number of items''' and their '''combined weight'''. If the lottery involves a '''house collapse''', the system records the '''type of house that collapsed''' and allows players to click '''View Location''' to check its former position on the world map.
* 33% of the Items previously in the house will fall to the ground at their location in the house
* 33% of the Items previously in the House are immediately Deleted

===Lottery Entry===
This information can help players decide whether to participate, as certain locations may indicate whether the house was a high-value vendor property, a guild home, or a frequently used private residence.
* The House Decay Lottery listing for an Items Collection Lottery will have a Treasure Chest icon next to it and display [Items Collection]
* The total Number of Items and total Weight of Items in the collection will listed in the middle of the entry

== Sorting and Filtering Lotteries ==
To help players navigate active lotteries, the House Decay Lottery menu offers several sorting options:

==Filter Modes==
* '''Sort by House Cost''' – Orders listings based on the '''NPC purchase price''' of the house. Larger, more expensive houses such as '''Castles''' will appear at the top, while '''Small Houses''' will be listed at the bottom.
* Players can now sort Lottery entries by "House Cost" which will order listings high-to-low in terms of the NPC Purchase Cost of the related House for the entry (i.e. Castles would appear at the top of the list and Small Houses at the bottom)
* '''Sort by Lottery Type''' – Displays '''[House Ownership]''' entries first, followed by '''[Items Collection]''' entries.
* Player can also sort by "Lottery Type" to have [House Ownership] entries appear first, and then [Items Collection] entries afterwards

When a House is due to collapse due to not being refreshed, commonly referred to as IDOC (In Danger of Collapse), there are now two possible outcomes.

There is a 50% chance that the house will follow the traditional IDOC process, where it is deleted, and an Items Collection Lottery occurs. Alternatively, there is a 50% chance that the house itself remains standing and enters a House Ownership Lottery, though all of its contents are permanently deleted.

Houseboats will always go up for lottery and will never collapse.

House Decay Lottery Menu and Official

Players can view all active House Decay Lotteries by visiting the House Decay Lottery Official in Prevalia, located just west of the Society Job Hall.

To access the lottery menu, players can:

  • Say aloud near the NPC: "Lottery," "Decay," "Ticket," "Raffle," "IDOC," "House," "Vendor," or "Buy"
  • Single-click the NPC and select Buy

Each House Decay Lottery lasts seven days, allowing players to purchase tickets throughout the duration. Tickets are available for 1,000 gold each, or a bundle of 10 tickets for 10,000 gold.

The lottery menu provides details on each active lottery, displaying the total number of items and their combined weight. If the lottery involves a house collapse, the system records the type of house that collapsed and allows players to click View Location to check its former position on the world map.

This information can help players decide whether to participate, as certain locations may indicate whether the house was a high-value vendor property, a guild home, or a frequently used private residence.

Items Collection Lottery (House Deletion)

If the system determines that a house will follow the traditional IDOC process, a random 15-60 minute window will occur before the house collapses. Once this happens, its contents are distributed in three ways:

  • 34% of the items will be added to an Items Collection Lottery, where they can be won by ticket holders.
  • 33% of the items will fall to the ground, allowing nearby players to loot them manually.
  • 33% of the items are permanently deleted.

When a house enters this type of lottery, the listing will display a Treasure Chest icon and be labeled [Items Collection]. It will also show the total number of items available and their combined weight.

The listing also includes the type of house that collapsed, such as a "Norse Watchtower", and provides a View Location button, which allows players to check the coordinates of the former house location.

Claiming Lottery Rewards

Players who win an Items Collection Lottery will receive a Blessed House Decay Claim Ticket in their Bank Box. Note: This ticket has an updated graphic and hue as of recent patches.

  • Double-clicking the ticket opens a menu displaying all won items.
  • Players can click Claim next to each item to retrieve it into their backpack.

House Ownership Lottery (Item Deletion)

When a house enters a House Ownership Lottery, the house itself remains standing, but all of its contents are deleted permanently.

  • The current owner is removed.
  • The house's Friends and Co-Owners list is cleared.
  • Ownership is reset, and the house is now available through a lottery.

Unlike the traditional IDOC process, this system does not distribute items. Instead, it allows players to bid for ownership of the house itself.

In the House Decay Lottery menu, these listings will feature a House Icon next to them and be labeled [House Ownership]. They will also display the type of house, such as "Compact Stone Keep", along with a View Location button that shows the house's coordinates on the world map.

House Ownership Ticket

Players who win a House Ownership Lottery will receive a Blessed House Ownership Ticket, which will be placed in their Bank Box. These tickets can be traded or sold to other players and will not be lost on death.

Winning players have 14 days to claim their new house. If the house is not claimed within this time, it will be permanently deleted. The House Ownership Ticket provides key details, including the house type and location coordinates, and includes a View Location button for easier navigation.

Claiming a House

To claim ownership, players must meet the following conditions:

  • They must be within 24 tiles of the house sign.
  • The House Ownership Ticket must be in their backpack.
  • They must not already own another house (Rental Rooms do not count).

Clicking Claim This House three times in a row will finalize the process. If the player currently has a Rental Room contract, it will be canceled automatically, and all items inside the Rental Room will be moved to their Bank Box.

Once claimed, the house is fully transferred to the player, immediately refreshed, and follows standard house decay rules going forward.

Sorting and Filtering Lotteries

To help players navigate active lotteries, the House Decay Lottery menu offers several sorting options:

  • Sort by House Cost – Orders listings based on the NPC purchase price of the house. Larger, more expensive houses such as Castles will appear at the top, while Small Houses will be listed at the bottom.
  • Sort by Lottery Type – Displays [House Ownership] entries first, followed by [Items Collection] entries.
