Disguise Kit: Difference between revisions

Disguise Kits allow a player to disguise themselves. Players can acquire Disguise Kits by purchasing them from Thief NPCs or by crafting them using the Tailoring skill. These kits are stackable, allowing players to carry multiple Disguise Kits conveniently. To use a Disguise Kit, a player must have at least 80 Stealing skill.

Once a disguise is applied, players must wait five minutes before applying another one. This cooldown ensures that disguises are not changed too frequently.

Features

Disguise Kits offer a range of customization options for a player's character. The selections made within a Disguise Kit are persistent, meaning they are stored for that specific character across all Disguise Kits they use. This system functions similarly to Storage Shelves, where selections remain saved for convenience.

Players can randomize their disguise features, such as their character's name, hairstyle, beard style, and color, using the small Orb button located on the left side of each customizable feature (where applicable). This randomization only includes basic starting options, ensuring that every disguise maintains a somewhat natural look.

For those who have unlocked unique appearance features via their Wig Stand, players can cycle through these variations using the Left/Right Arrow buttons. This allows them to choose from unique skin hues, hair and beard styles, hair and beard colors, backpack hues, and tattoo styles and hues.

A character's name can also be changed using the Disguise Kit. Clicking the large Checkbox button will confirm and lock in the new name selection. However, if a player logs out or gets disconnected while wearing a disguise, their character’s name will revert to their original name. Upon logging back in, the disguised name will be restored.

Randomization

The Disguise Kit includes an optional randomization feature that affects both appearance and displayed reputation. If a player enables "Show Randomized in Paperdoll" under the Fame/Karma section, their character will be assigned a random, positive combination of Fame and Karma. This randomized Fame and Karma combination will be visible to others in the character’s Paperdoll while the disguise is active.

Players can also use the "Randomize Selections" button in the bottom left corner of the Disguise Kit menu. This button will apply a randomized selection to each customizable feature, except for Fame and Karma. Each feature has a 50% chance to use either a random unlocked customization option (if the player has any available) or a basic option from the default selections (such as starting hues, hairstyles, etc.).

Notably, the Fame/Karma selection will never be randomized by this feature.
