The Forensic Evaluation skill allows players to efficiently harvest leather, meat, and special ingredients from creatures while also providing combat and barding bonuses. It enhances the effectiveness of skinning knives, increases the chance of acquiring colored leather, and grants players a PvM and PvP damage bonus.
- Players can harvest leather using a Skinning Knife, with a chance to obtain colored leather.
- Forensic Evaluation grants damage and barding bonuses, even if the player has not recently skinned a creature.
- Using Forensic Evaluation or a Skinning Knife on oneself or the ground activates Smart Harvest, which carves all gray notoriety corpses within 2 tiles.
- Carving a creature's corpse will automatically open it.
- Players can use Forensic Evaluation on themselves to harvest the closest body.
- All creatures provide leather, meat, and special cooking ingredients, with yields scaling based on the player's Forensic Evaluation skill.
Mechanics
Carving corpses with Forensic Evaluation or Skinning Knives is not restricted by the Global Skill Cooldown. Instead, it has its own 0.5-second cooldown.
The amount of leather and meat obtained when carving is: 50% + (150% * (Forensic Evaluation Skill / 100))
of the creature's base amount.
Chance to harvest colored leather instead of regular leather: 7.5% * (1 + Tool Bonus)
