The Taste Identification skill serves multiple purposes, including detecting poisoned food, enhancing Poison-based effects, and assisting in the Plant system. Players can use this skill alongside a Planter's Spade to determine the Ideal Heat, Water, and Soil levels for plants.

Additionally, whenever a player has Food Satisfaction from consuming food, they receive increased Mana Regeneration and Swing Speed. The cooldown for using Taste Identification on food is 2 seconds.

Poisoning and Taste Identification

Taste Identification enhances Poison-related effects in the many ways.

When a player applies Poison (via spells or weapons) to a creature, its damage is increased by:

100% * (Taste ID Skill / 100)

Reduces the chance for a player's Poison spell to be resisted by:

50% * (Taste ID Skill / 100)

Reduces a target’s chance to cure Poison by:

50% * (Taste ID Skill / 100)

The Taste ID skill does not reduce a target creature's Poison Resistance. However, players can still reduce Poison Resistance through Poison Kit upgrades or Mastery Chain Links.

Food Satisfaction

Players can eat food every 60 seconds and upgrade their Food Satisfaction to a higher bonus type. Satisfaction Bonuses received from Food will use whichever skill is higher between a player's Cooking skill or Taste Identification skill

Mana Regen

Food Satisfaction bonus is calculated by the Highest Skill between Taste Identification and Cooking.

Type % Chance for 2 Mana Regen Add. Bonus
Measly 2.5% + 5% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Paltry 5% + 10% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Meager 10% + 20% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Adequate 15% + 30% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Appetizing 20% + 40% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Delectable 25% + 50% * (Highest Skill / 100)

If the player is actively Meditating, the chance is reduced to 50% of normal

Swing Speed Bonus

Food Satisfaction bonus is calculated by the Highest Skill between Taste Identification and Cooking.

Type Swing Speed Bonus Add. Bonus
Measly +0.5% + 1% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Paltry +1% + 2% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Meager +2% + 4% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Adequate +3% + 6% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Appetizing +4% + 8% * (Highest Skill / 100)
Delectable +5% + 10% * (Highest Skill / 100)

Herbal Poultice Bonus

Players with Taste Identification receive a Herbal Poultice Bonus, granting them a chance to ignore incoming damage from Poison, Bleed, or Disease effects. The chance to negate damage is:

50% * (Taste ID Skill / 100)
