The Arcane skill enables players to wield Arcane Staves, a unique weapon class tailored for pure mage builds. It enhances spellcasting, boosts the effectiveness of Arcane Runes, and grants access to Arcane Codex Stances and Finishers.

Mechanics

Players who have used followers or Barding skills in the last 60 seconds will lose access to:

  • Arcane Buildup
  • Arcane Codex Stances and Finishers
  • Arcane Staff Weapon Abilities

A player's hit and defense chance with an Arcane Staff is based on their Arcane skill, but it is capped by their Wrestling skill. Players with at least 80 Arcane and 80 Wrestling can cast spells while wielding an Arcane Staff, allowing for a hybrid combat style.

Players with the Arcane skill can also select "Arcanist" as their Paperdoll skill title.

A player's Arcane Skill is capped by the lower printed value of Wrestling or Magery, whichever is lowest. For example, a player with 100 Arcane, 100 magery and 60 wrestling would have a functional Arcane skill of 60.

PvM Bonuses

Players have a chance to avoid Spell Interruption from creature/environmental damage while casting with an Arcane Staff equipped of:

(Effective Arcane Skill / 100%)

Players with the Arcane skill receive a bonus to the effectiveness of nearby Arcane Runes of:

(25% * (Arcane Skill / 100))
