Summary

The Detect Hidden skill allows players to reveal hidden players, disarm traps, and aid in various investigative abilities. The success rate of revealing hidden players is equal to the player's Detect Hidden skill.

At 100 skill or higher, Detect Hidden reveals all hidden targets within a radius of 8 * (Detect Hidden Skill / 100) spaces of the targeted location (or the player, if targeting self). The skill also increases the distance at which hidden players can be discovered when using the Tracking skill.

Detect Hidden is required to use certain mechanics:

  • A minimum of 80 skill is needed to use Tinker Traps. Excess skill above 80 reduces floor trap cooldowns.
  • It is used to decipher Research Guides.
  • A minimum of 80 skill is required to use Detective Lens.
  • Players can use Detect Hidden at 0 skill within a House to reveal hidden individuals inside.
  • It can be used to disarm traps on Dungeon Chests and Paragon Chests.
  • If a player interacts with a Dungeon Chest, Treasure Map Chest, or detonates a Ground Trap, they will receive a 30-second restriction preventing them from actively using Detect Hidden to reveal players.

Removing Traps

On Outlands, the Remove Trap skill has been merged into Detect Hidden.

Dungeon Chests

Dungeon Chests have a Trap Difficulty Level ranging from 1 to 8, based on their dungeon location, and a Remove Trap Progress value from 0-100%. Players use Trap Tools to remove traps, progressing toward full disarmament.

  • If a chest has less than 100% Remove Trap progress, there is a chance to trigger a trap when attempting to lockpick it.
  • Triggering a trap does not reset Remove Trap progress, meaning multiple traps can be sprung from the same chest.
  • A player who triggers a trap cannot use the Hiding skill or be hidden by the Invisibility spell for 5 seconds.
  • As Remove Trap progress increases, the chance of triggering traps from both Lockpicking and Remove Trap attempts decreases.

Players can interact with a Dungeon Chest in multiple ways:

  • Double-click the chest to open the Lockpicking/Remove Trap window.
  • Use Trap Tools and target the chest manually.
  • Single-click the chest to display its current progress on Lockpicking and Remove Trap.

Exceptional and colored material Lockpicks increase the player's Effective Lockpicking skill and enhance progress per successful check.

A player's chance to successfully Remove Trap is calculated as: ((Effective Detecting Hidden Skill - Chest Minimum Skill) * 2.5%).
