Summary

The Archery skill allows players to fire arrows and bolts from a distance using Bows and Crossbows. Archery is effective in both PvM and PvP, providing unique combat mechanics and synergies with other skills.

  • Archery weapons cannot be poisoned.
  • Players must remain stationary for 0.5 seconds before shooting (regardless of Dexterity).
  • Bows have a maximum range of 10 tiles.
  • Crossbows have a maximum range of 8 tiles.
  • Chance to hit with an archery weapon is calculated as:
 * (Attacker's Archery Skill + 50) / ((Defender's Weapon or Wrestling Skill + 50) * 2) plus any relevant accuracy bonuses.  
  • Secondary Weapon Skill Bonus:
 * PvM: Increases Base Weapon Damage by (25% * Skill / 100).  
 * PvP: Reduced to (10% * Skill / 100).  

PvM Special Attack

  • Only works against creatures (not players).
  • Players have a 10% chance to inflict an Archery Weapon Special Attack against creatures.
  • The chance can be increased through:
 * Arms Lore  
 * Water Aspect Armor  
 * Mastery Chain Links  

Effects of Archery Special Attack

  • Increases damage dealt by the attack by 50% (100% if the target is already Hindered or immune to Hinder).
  • Hinders the target for 4-8 seconds (prevents movement, casting, and melee attacks).
 * Duration scales based on weapon speed and creature difficulty.  
 * Players receive a +25% Accuracy bonus when attacking a Hindered target with Archery.  
  • Hinder Immunity Mechanic:
 * Once a creature recovers from a Hinder effect caused by a player weapon, it becomes immune to further Hinder effects for 50% of the original Hinder duration.  
 * While immune, attempted Hinders will instead grant a damage bonus.  

Example:

  • A player delivers a 6-second Hinder effect to a creature.
  • After the 6 seconds expire, the creature becomes immune to Hinder for 3 seconds.
  • During these 3 seconds, any new Hinder effects will instead increase the player's damage against the creature.
