The Mace Fighting skill allows players to wield slow-hitting blunt weapons that emphasize stamina damage and armor penetration. Unlike other weapon types, maces cannot be Poisoned.
Mechanics
In PvP, mace-class weapons have the unique property of draining an opponent’s stamina at an increased rate. This stamina drain is calculated at:
+25%
compared to other weapon types.
The chance to hit with a mace-class weapon is determined by:
(Attacker's Mace Fighting Skill + 50) / ((Defender's Weapon or Wrestling Skill + 50) * 2) + Relevant Accuracy Bonuses
Mace Fighting also provides damage bonuses when used as a secondary weapon skill:
- In PvM, Base Weapon Damage is increased by
(25% * Skill / 100)
. - In PvP, Base Weapon Damage is reduced to
(10% * Skill / 100)
.
Mace Fighting Special Attack in PvM
Mace-class weapons apply a unique special attack when used against creatures. Players have a 10% base chance to inflict a Special Attack, which can be increased through:
When a Special Attack is triggered, the following effects apply:
- Increases the damage of the attack that generated the special by 50%.
- Applies a Pierce Effect for 8-16 seconds, reducing the target’s Effective Armor Value by 25.
- If the target’s Effective Armor Rating is 0 or at its Armor Minimum, the Special Attack damage increases by an additional 50%.
The duration of these effects scales based on:
- Weapon speed (slower maces apply longer-lasting effects).
- Creature difficulty (tougher creatures resist effects differently).
Mace Fighting Weapons
Mace-class weapons can be crafted using Blacksmithy or Carpentry, depending on the material type, or purchased from NPC vendors.
