Base Damage Calculation

Most damage modifiers in Outlands, including skill-based and weapon-based bonuses, are calculated using a value known as base damage. The starting point for base damage comes from your weapon.

To view the base damage range of a weapon, use the Arms Lore skill on the weapon. When performing an attack, the initial damage is determined by rolling within this base damage range.

Damage Modifiers by Target

Base damage is then modified depending on the target of the attack:

  • Against players: The rolled base damage is used without modification.
  • Against tamed creatures: The rolled base damage is multiplied by 1.5.
  • Against non-tamed creatures: The rolled base damage is multiplied by 2.0.

The result of this calculation serves as the base damage for all subsequent damage-related formulas.
