This page details changes to PvP Events, Factions, and Guilds introduced with the Wildlands Expansion (May 19, 2024).
PvP Events and Scripting [DELAYED]
- Note: Implementation of script/macro restrictions during PvP Events and Faction participation was delayed from the initial expansion release for further review and balancing. Check PvP Event Script Restrictions for current status.
- *(Original plan was: While "Participate in Factions" is enabled OR during PvP Events (Town Struggle, Dungeon Flashpoint, Corpse Creek Contest, Stygian Rift), players cannot use Razor Scripts or Macros. Default Razor features like Hotkeys, Arm/Disarm, Scavenger would remain usable.)*
Guilds
- Players must wait 3 Days to join a new Guild after leaving an existing one.
Kill Announcements
- Global kill announcements during PvP Events have been removed. Only the player credited with the kill receives a message.
Public Omni Bosses Battle
- Faction Kills occurring within Public Omni Battles are now worth 200 Faction Score.
- Killing Rift Minions during Public Omni Battles is worth (Damage Dealt % * 25) Faction Score.
- Players earn War Aspect Experience for Faction Score earned from killing Rift Minions.
Contested Bosses
- Faction Kills occurring within Contested Boss Rooms (or between players flagged for recently entering one) are now worth 200 Faction Score.
- When a Contested Boss (land-based) dies, Faction Players who dealt damage receive (Damage Dealt % * 15000) Faction Score, capped at 750 Faction Score per player per boss.
- Players earn War Aspect Experience for Faction Score earned from damaging a Contested Boss.
Waypost Supply Containers
- Waypost Supply Containers now spawn randomly at Faction Wayposts.
- Faction participants can double-click a container to strike it, inflicting random damage.
- Striking applies a 30-second Heat of Battle effect.
- Once broken, the container drops randomized resources.
- Breaking a container is worth 200 Faction Score total, distributed among damagers based on damage dealt %.
- Individual players are capped at earning 50 Faction Score per container this way.
- One random damaging player also receives a bonus 100 Faction Score (ignores the cap).
Faction Caravans
- At a random time each hour, a Faction Caravan initiates for a random Faction, starting at that Faction's Trade Caravan location.
- Faction players earn Faction Score for escorting; amounts increase if their faction is solely present.

- Terran to Prevalia
Notifications and Indications
- System message and sound play when a caravan starts.
- Caravan Icon appears in Faction menus and the Faction Hotbar.
- Clicking the Orb button next to the icon shows the caravan's map location and starts a tracking arrow.
Faction Caravan Mechanics
- Differ from Trade Caravans:
* Always keep moving, regardless of escorts. * Move slower than Trade Caravans. * No Creature Encounters. * Cannot be directly attacked by players. * No items contained; rewards are Faction Score.
Escorting and Raiding
- Control Tick occurs every 30 seconds.
- All non-hidden participating Faction Players within 24 tiles earn 15 Faction Score per tick.
- If all players within 24 tiles are from the same Faction, they each earn an additional 15 Faction Score (total 30).
- Continuous 30-second Heat of Battle effect applies within 24 tiles.
- Faction Kills within 100 tiles are Upgraded Kills (worth 200 Faction Score, later adjusted).
Faction VIPs
- At a random time each hour, a Faction VIP spawns in a random Faction's Castle Flag Room.
- Defending Faction members earn score for protecting the castle/VIP.
- Opposing Factions earn score for attacking the VIP.
Notifications and Indications
- System message and sound play when a VIP spawns.
- VIP Icon appears in Faction menus and the Faction Hotbar.
When the Faction VIP Spawns
- VIP appears in the Faction's Castle Flag Room.
- All Walls of that Castle are fully repaired immediately.
- All Opposing Faction Players inside that Castle are ejected.
VIP Mechanics
- VIP exists in the Flag Room for 10 minutes.
- Can be attacked by Opposing Factions.
- Cannot be harmed by the Defending Faction.
- Most PvM bonuses (Specials, Finishers, Aspects, etc.) do not apply/trigger against the VIP.
- VIP automatically cures debuffs/timed effects (Poison, Disease, Bleed).
- Damaging the VIP applies a 30-second Heat of Battle effect.
Faction Scoring
- Opposing Factions earn 2 Faction Score per damage instance dealt to a Castle Wall.
- Every 15 seconds: Valid Opposing Players who damaged the VIP earn 25 Faction Score.
- Every 15 seconds: If VIP was undamaged, all Valid Defending Players within 100 tiles earn 15 Faction Score.
- "Valid" excludes Hidden players or those with a Faction Death Penalty.
Faction Kills
- Valid Faction Kills within 100 tiles of the VIP are worth 250 Faction Score.
