The Magic Item Recycler is a utility item that allows players to efficiently recycle magical items into Arcane Essence. It can be purchased from the Prevalian Merchant and requires magic items to be identified before they can be recycled.
The Magic Item Recycler functions like a normal chest, allowing players to freely drop any item into it, including non-recyclable items such as reagents or bandages. Even if the container is not Locked Down or Secured inside a house, players can still open and access its contents. However, the Recycle Menu will only become available once the Recycler is properly secured within a house.
Players can customize the appearance of the Magic Item Recycler using Furniture Dye. When dyed, the color will be permanently added to a collection of Unlocked Hues, which can be cycled through using the "Hue" option from the context menu (Shift + Click). Additionally, players can purchase an Industrious Magic Item Recycler Restyle Deed from the Prevalia Market, which unlocks a new animated visual style for the Recycler. When this style is applied, the Recycler adopts a unique container graphic. Players can switch between unlocked visual styles by selecting the "Restyle" option in the context menu.
Recycling Items
The Magic Item Recycler provides two Dump modes, represented by buttons at the top of the interface:
- Dump Into Recycler – Targets a container (or the player's backpack) and transfers all recyclable items, regardless of identification status or properties.
- Dump Into Recycler (Only Matching Properties) – Targets a container (or the player's backpack) and transfers only items that match specific properties selected by the player (e.g., "Vanquishing" + "Eminently Accurate"). Magical items must be identified for this mode to function.
Players can also quickly transfer items using the "Add All in Backpack" option from the Shift-Click context menu, which will trigger the Dump Into Recycler mechanic for all magic items in the player's backpack.
When recycling, players can choose to process items one category at a time or select multiple categories using checkboxes. Once selected, clicking Begin Recycle will process the items. Items highlighted in green will be recycled, while items highlighted in red will not. Once recycled, items cannot be recovered.
Identifying Items
To identify magical items stored in the Magic Item Recycler, players must add Item Identification Charges. These charges allow the recycler to automatically identify items without requiring manual use of the Item Identification skill.
Adding ID Charges
To add ID Charges, players can:
1. Click the "Add ID Charges" button.
2. Target an Item Identification Wand or a Container ID Wand to consume it.
3. Alternatively, target themselves to consume all Item Identification or Container ID Wands in their backpack.
Each wand consumed contributes to the Recycler’s ID Charge count:
- Consuming an Item Identification Wand adds 1 ID Charge per remaining use.
- Consuming a Container Identification Wand adds 50 ID Charges per remaining use.
Identifying Items
Players can click the Identify Items button to identify all Unidentified magical items stored in the Magic Item Recycler. Each item identified will reduce the recycler’s stored ID Charges by 1.
The recycler automatically tracks the remaining charges, ensuring players can efficiently process and recycle large quantities of magical items.
