Codex and Grimoire Overview

From Fiend's Outlands Wiki
Revision as of 02:16, 4 March 2025 by Fiend (talk | contribs)

Outlands features numerous player-crafted PvM progression items tied to specific skills, significantly enhancing the performance of various builds. These items are designed to be **blessed**, meaning they cannot be stolen, and their experience progression is linked to the character rather than the item itself. As a result, these items remain **freely tradeable and sellable**, but experience gained will not transfer upon trade.

Players who meet the **minimum skill requirement of 80 in the relevant printed skill** and carry a codex or progression item can **use multiple codices or progression items simultaneously**, such as the **Codex of Fencing and the Poison Kit**. They will also **gain full experience** across multiple codices or progression items concurrently, provided they meet the specific conditions required for experience gain. Additionally, players will **receive all associated bonuses** from a codex or progression item, as long as they fulfill its requirements, such as wielding the correct weapon, attacking a poisoned or barded target, or remaining stationary when required.

Adventurer's Satchel

The **Adventurer's Satchel** is a specialized container designed to help players organize **blessed** items. Since it can only store other **blessed** items, it is an excellent tool for keeping progression items secure. The satchel is crafted by **Tailors** using **5 Mastercrafting Diagrams** and **100 Leather**.

Bard Codex

The **Bard Codex** provides enhancements for characters skilled in **Barding**. To utilize its benefits, a player must have **at least 80 printed skill** in any two of the following: **Musicianship, Peacemaking, Discordance, or Provocation**. The codex offers **eight unique upgrades**, which can be activated at **Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3** levels.

As players gain experience, they earn **Bard Codex Upgrade Points**, with a maximum of **20 points** available. These points can be freely allocated to unlock different upgrades. If needed, players may **reset their spent points** once every **five minutes**. The Bard Codex is crafted by **Scribes** using **25 Arcane Scrolls** and **1 Mastercrafting Diagram**.

Healer's Codex

Like other codices, it features **eight upgrade paths**, each available at **Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3**.

Experience gained through healing allows players to earn **Healer’s Codex Upgrade Points**, with a **maximum of 20 points**. These points can be reset every **five minutes**, allowing for strategic changes to a player’s build. The Healer’s Codex is crafted by **Scribes** using **25 Arcane Scrolls** and **1 Mastercrafting Diagram**.

Summoning creatures and using them in combat **earns experience**, which is then used to enhance summon spells. Each summon spell has **ten unique upgrades**, providing significant bonuses to the caster’s summons. The **Summoner’s Tome** is crafted by **Scribes** using **25 Arcane Scrolls** and **1 Mastercrafting Diagram**.

Taming Bestiary
