Players can track their Murder Counts and have a running Murder Fees amount, which must be paid upon resurrection if they are a Murderer. A player remains in Red (Murderer) status until they have fewer than 5 Murder Counts. Each count requires 72 hours of logged-in time on the counted character to decay. Murderers who die while participating in a Town Struggle, near an IDOC event, in a Duel/Tournament, or while on a Ship are exempt from paying resurrection fees.
Murderer Death
When a Murderer dies inside a Dungeon (excluding Wilderness), they will always receive a minimum Region Restriction of 15 minutes, in addition to any additional restrictions from recent murders. If a player has 5 or more Murder Counts at the time of death, they must pay off their Murder Fees before they are allowed to resurrect.
Upon paying their Murder Fees, the character’s Murder Counts will be reduced to 5, and their Murder Fees amount will reset to 0. If a player chooses to wait for their counts to decay below 5 before resurrecting, the unpaid Murder Fees will remain and must be paid the next time they die while having 5 or more counts.
Slaying Murderers
When a slain Murderer resurrects and pays their Murder Fees, the player who killed them will receive 33% to 66% of the fees as a gold reward, which is deposited directly into their bank box.
Murder Fees
Each time a player commits a Murder and is reported for it, they receive a base Murder Fee of 2,000 gold. However, if the victim reports multiple attackers, the Murder Fee increases by 500 gold per additional accomplice beyond the first.
Example

If a player is attacked and killed by five murderers, each murderer will have a Murder Fee of:
- Base fee: 2,000 gold
- Additional Accomplices (4 x 500 gold) = 2,000 gold
- Total Murder Fee per killer: 4,000 gold
Murderer Region Restrictions
When a Murderer dies in a punishable location (excluding Grey Zones and PvP events), they will receive Region Restrictions for every area where they committed a murder in the last 60 minutes. These restrictions prevent the Murderer from committing aggressive actions against Blue players in that region and from performing beneficial actions on other Murderers or Criminals.
The duration of Region Restrictions is determined as follows:
- Base duration: 30 minutes
- +15 minutes per highest accomplice count in any of their recent murders
- Murderers that die inside a Dungeon (excluding the Wilderness) receive a minimum 15-minute restriction, in addition to any others due to recent murders.
Wilderness Restrictions
The Wilderness is treated like a Dungeon for Region Restrictions; however, the restriction duration is always reduced by 50%.
Example
A player commits the following murders within 60 minutes:
- A solo murder in Pulma
- A murder with two accomplices in the Wilderness
- A murder with five accomplices in Ossuary
- The player then dies in Darkmire Temple
Since the highest accomplice count for any murder was five (Ossuary), the player receives:
- A 90-minute restriction in Pulma and Ossuary (30 min + (15 min x 4))
- A 45-minute restriction in the Wilderness (90 min * 50% reduction)
This system ensures that murderers are held accountable for their actions while providing a way to reduce their counts over time.
