Outlands Patch April 4, 2024 is an update for Outlands.
This patch introduces Chromatic Cores/Distillations for Aspect Mastery, updates Alchemy conversions, changes Rental Room PvP flag interaction, adds bulk alt removal from house lists, modifies corpse decay, adds corpse-loot potential to Pilfering/Mugging, adjusts Smoke Bomb usage after Detect Hidden, allows Mastery Chain Dyes in Dyes Tomes, fixes ship mount loss, adds Runebooks/Runetomes to Pawnbroker, updates Resource Map behavior, fixes several Taming Bestiary upgrades, makes Mount Gear weightless, adjusts Custodian revealing, increases Repair Bench charge limit, boosts Wax Book Seal charges, and makes Archery Targets interactive for the mini-game.
Aspects
Aspect Extracts and Aspect Distillations
- Aspect Extracts will no longer drop as loot; only Aspect Distillations will drop going forward (phasing out Extracts).
- Existing Aspect Extracts can still be converted to Distillations via Alchemy or exchanged for Arcane Essence at the Prevalia Exchange Officer.
Aspect Items
- Drop rate for Aspect Cores, Aspect Distillations, and Aspect Phylacteries moderately increased.
- Aspect Cores now weigh 0.1 stones (was 1).
Chromatic Items
- Players will now encounter Chromatic Cores and Chromatic Distillations as somewhat rare loot from most systems.
- Chromatic Items can be converted into specific Aspect Cores/Distillations via Alchemy.
Alchemy
Chromatic Conversions
- Players can convert Chromatic Cores into specific Aspect Cores (1:1 ratio) under "Chromatic -> Core" category.
- Players can convert Chromatic Distillations into specific Aspect Distillations (1:1 ratio) under "Chromatic -> Distill" category.
Phylactery Conversions
Aspect Cores
- Convert Aspect Phylacteries into either Aspect-Specific Cores or Chromatic Cores ("Phylactery -> Core" category).
- Ratio: 4 Phylacteries to 1 matching Aspect Core.
- Ratio: 8 Phylacteries to 1 Chromatic Core.
Aspect Distillations
- Convert Aspect Phylacteries into either Aspect-Specific Distillations or Chromatic Distillations ("Phylactery -> Distill" category).
- Ratio: 4 Phylacteries to 1 matching Aspect Distillation.
- Ratio: 8 Phylacteries to 1 Chromatic Distillation.
Rental Rooms
- Players can now enter Rental Rooms while recently Flagged in PvP, as long as they do not have a Heat of Battle effect active.
Houses
- Option added when removing players from Friend, Co-Owner, and Ban Lists: "Remove Alt Chars".
- If toggled ON:
- Removing from Friend/Co-Owner list also removes all other characters on the same Account from BOTH Friend and Co-Owner lists.
- Removing from Ban List also removes all other characters on the same Account from the Ban List.
- (Note: Will eventually check OutlandsID instead of just Account).
- (Note: Acting player must have higher house access level than the character being removed, e.g., a Friend cannot use this to remove a Co-Owner alt).
- System message indicates number of characters removed.
Interactions
- Players can no longer Use Items, Lift Items, or Use Skills while simultaneously Hidden AND Squelched by a creature ability (e.g., Forgotten King's 'Mummification').
- Players can now use Axes to chop Addons/Containers in houses even with a Harvest Ban in effect.
Expedited Creature Corpse Decay
Creature corpses with 0 items may decay faster:
- If carved and empty for 60 consecutive seconds: decays.
- If not carved and empty for 5 consecutive minutes: decays.
- (Note: Standard decay is ~15 minutes, but varies.)
Pilfering and Mugging
- Successful Pilfering or Mugging attempts on creatures can now yield loot items similar to corpse loot (placed directly in backpack).
- Excludes basic loot (Gems, Magical Items, Reagents/Bandages/Arrows/Bolts).
- Includes potential for Special/Rare loot normally found on corpses (including Dungeon-specific items), scaled by player's Special/Rare loot chance bonuses.
- Black Goods can still be encountered as normal.
- Event-specific loot (Winterlands Tickets, Holiday Snowglobes, etc.) can now also be obtained.
Smoke Bombs
- 10 second cooldown applies after using Detecting Hidden skill before a Smoke Bomb can be used.
Dyes Tome
- Mastery Chain Dyes can now be stored in a Dyes Tome.
Ships
- Fixed a rare issue where players could potentially lose their mount while dying due to sinking on a ship while mounted.
Pawnbroker
- Runebooks and Rune Tomes that decay in houses can now be recovered at the Pawnbroker NPC.
Resource Maps
- Resource Maps (Fishing, Lumber, Ore, Skinning) now automatically delete when exhausted.
- Making harvesting attempts from Skinning Maps now reveals the player (consistent with other Resource Maps).
Taming Bestiary
- Feral Upgrade should now correctly apply its damage.
- Immolate Upgrade should now correctly apply to Attack Class creatures with Spellburn ability.
- Critical Care upgrade should now correctly only apply to Tank Class creatures.
- Trample Upgrade description updated: "Melee Attacks inflict an additional (DamageMax * (8% / 16% / 24%)) to 2 random targets within 1 tile of defender" (was within 1 tile of attacker).
- Players can now freely Reset Taming Bestiary Upgrades without cooldown if they currently have no Followers controlled.
Mount Gear
- Mount Gear on player Mounts is now weightless (was 1 stone per item).
Custodians
- Custodians will no longer reveal a player if they are on a different dungeon level than the custodian.
Repair Bench
- Maximum stored Charges increased to 5000.
Wax Book Seal
- Maximum Charges increased to 250.
Archery Targets
- Archery Butte Addon, Snow-Covered Archery Butte, Primitive Archery Butte, and Straw Archery Target items are now interactive and usable for the standard Archery Mini-Game.
- Archery Mini-Game now utilizes arrows/bolts from Quivers and can recover/stack them back into Quivers.
