Outlands Patch January 13, 2024 is an update for Outlands.
This patch introduces the Horseshoe Bay Invasion Event, changes Herding mechanics to use an Activated Shepherd's Crook, adds Loadouts to the Taming Bestiary while adjusting some upgrades, caps PvP Follower damage over time, modifies Disarm bonuses, and caps the stacking Chill Effect.
Horseshoe Bay Invasion Event
- Evil has spilled forth from Aegis Keep Dungeon and launched a full-scale invasion of nearby Horseshoe Bay!
- Event Duration: Saturday, January 13th at 11AM ET until January 20th 11AM ET.
Horseshoe Bay Region Changes
- Horseshoe Bay is temporarily an Unguarded Region (PvP/PvM enabled).
- Creatures from Aegis Keep Dungeon spawn throughout the city and surrounding farmland.
- Existing Vendors and NPCs have left.
- Recall / Gate / Hike into the City is disabled.
- Players logging into the Horseshoe Bay Region are teleported to Prevalia (or Corpse Creek if Murderer).
- Rental Rooms in Horseshoe Bay are temporarily switched to Prevalia.

Herding
- The `[FocusAggression` command has been removed.
- Followers now always receive Herding skill bonuses while their controller has an "Activated" Shepherd's Crook (equipped or in backpack).
Shepherd's Crook
- Double-click a Shepherd's Crook (equipped or in backpack) to set it as Activated.
- All controlled Followers receive Herding bonuses based on the controller's Activated Crook.
- Single-click a Shepherd's Crook to see if it is currently Activated.
Herding Skill Gain
- Double-clicking a Shepherd's Crook also makes a Herding Skill Check for potential Skill Gain.
- Passive skill gain while fighting with Followers remains unchanged.
Taming Bestiary
Loadouts
- Players can now create Loadouts for the Taming Bestiary.
- Each Loadout stores Upgrade selections for all three Class Types (Attack, Utility, Tank).
- Maximum 25 Loadouts per character.
Restrictions
- Can only Create, Delete, or Switch Loadouts while controlling no followers.
- *(Note: Players needed to reapply Upgrade Points to their first Loadout after this patch).*
Upgrades
- Swoop: Description updated: "The next Melee Attack or Spellcast within 10 seconds after using a Cooldown Ability will have its Damage increased by (33% / 66% / 100%). Damage Dealt increased by (4% / 8% / 12%) if creature does not have a Cooldown Ability".
- Underdog Bonuses:
- Damage Bonus now scales up to maximum 40%.
- Damage Resistance Bonus now scales up to maximum 20%.
- No longer grants a bonus to Healing.
- Zoology Bonuses:
- Damage Bonus now scales up to maximum 20%.
- Damage Resistance Bonus now scales up to maximum 10%.
- No longer grants a bonus to Healing.
PvP Follower Damage Caps
- Individual Followers are capped at inflicting a maximum of (5 Damage * Control Slots) against a specific player over any 3-second window.
- Damage exceeding this cap within the same 3-second window is reduced to 0.
Disarm
- Disarm Damage bonuses to creatures now only apply on Melee Attacks.
- Disarm Damage Bonuses now only apply to the player who applied the effect and their Followers (not other players).
- Player receives a 25% Melee Damage bonus vs creature they disarmed.
- Followers receive a 10% Melee Damage bonus vs creature their controller disarmed.
Chill Effect
- Chill Effects now stack up to a maximum of 20%.

Aspects
- Water Aspect Special: Inflicts (600 + (60 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within a 6 tile radius and applies a chill effect of (4% + (0.4% * Tier Level)) for 60 seconds (stacks up to 20%).
Follower Abilities
- Chill Touch: 15% chance on melee: (DamageMax * 0.9) damage, apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
- Chilled Charge: Teleport up to 12 tiles, hit up to 3 targets within 1 tile. (DamageMax * 0.7) damage (+50% to first target). Apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
- Flurry: Projectile up to 6 tiles: (DamageMax * 1.3) damage, apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
- Frigid Blast: Projectile up to 6 tiles, hit up to 3 targets within 1 tile. (DamageMax * 0.75) damage (+50% to first target). Apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
- Massive Ice Breath: Cone projectiles, hit up to 3 targets. (DamageMax * 0.8) damage (ignores armor, +50% to first target). Apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
- Spell Chill: 15% chance on spellcast: add'l (DamageMax * 0.75) damage (ignores armor), apply chill (Control Slots * 2%) for 60s (stacks up to 20%).
