Distribution Chest

From Fiend's Outlands Wiki

The Distribution Chest can be purchased from the Prevalian Merchant. It allows players to distribute its contents to a specified list of players.

While functioning as a normal chest (lockable and securable), the Distribution Chest provides an additional Distribution Chest Window when double-clicked, provided the player has access rights. If the window does not appear, the chest may be elevated too high on the z-axis via a deco tool. Lowering it will restore functionality.

Using a Furniture Dye on a Magic Item Vault, Distribution Chest, or Magic Item Recycler will permanently add the hue to a collection of Unlocked Hues for that item. Players can then cycle through unlocked hues by shift-clicking the item and selecting "Hue" from the context menu.

Players can also purchase a "Mystical Distribution Chest Restyle Deed" from the Prevalia Market. This deed unlocks a new animated visual style for Distribution Chests. Players can shift-click the chest and select "Restyle" to rotate through unlocked visual styles.

Adding Players

In the Distribution Chest Window, players can add characters to the Distribution List, which determines who may receive items from the chest.

Players can choose to add individual players, all members of their party, or all nearby players to the list. However, only Party Members or Guild Members of the acting player may be added.

Once satisfied with their list, players can click the "Distribute Chest Items" button. However, the distributing player must be inside a house to complete the distribution process.

Distributing Items

Upon distribution, each item in the chest is randomly assigned to a player in the list, with an attempt to divide items evenly.

  • Each container (e.g., a bag) inside the chest counts as one item.
  • Each stack of items (e.g., gold) is considered one item for distribution purposes.

Players will receive items in their backpack as long as they meet the following conditions:

  • They are inside the same house as the distributing player.
  • They have enough room in their backpack.
  • They are alive.

If a player cannot receive an item due to inventory constraints, it will be placed in their Bank Box using the Bank Queuing system, appearing once space is available.

After distribution, all players in the Distribution List receive a results window displaying the distribution breakdown.

Each line in the results window shows:

  • The recipient of each item.
  • A backpack icon for items placed in a player's backpack.
  • A silver chest icon for items placed in their bank box.

Afterward, the Distribution List is cleared. Distribution Chests will not distribute Trapped Containers. If such items are found in the chest, the distributing player will be notified, and the trapped items will not be given to any players.

Boss Button

The Boss Button allows a player who has the [BossResults] window open to automatically add all friendly players (party members and guild members) from the currently displayed Boss Event into their Distribution Chest player list.
