The Zoology Guild is a network of Zoologist NPCs that work behind the scenes to track and analyze the usage of different tamed creature types across Outlands. Players automatically receive combat bonuses for their tamed creatures based on this data, with lesser-used creatures receiving greater bonuses.
The Zoology Guild Damage bonus scales up to 30%, while the Damage Resistance bonus scales up to 15%. Additionally, players are rewarded with extra stable slots by utilizing a variety of tamed creatures, similar to the previous Taming Bestiary system.
Accessing the Zoology Menu
Players can access the Zoology Guild Menu in multiple ways:
- By typing [Zoology or [ZoologyGuild
- By clicking the Zoology button located in the upper-right corner of the Details page in the Animal Lore Menu for a tamed creature.
- Players do not need to manually join the Zoology Guild—all players automatically receive the associated benefits.
Zoology Guild System Overview
The Zoology System is based on a "Usage" model, tracking how much gold is earned across the entire server by players using each type of tamable creature while engaging in PvM content.
Only creatures with a Minimum Taming Requirement of 50 or higher are tracked within this system. At the start of each week, all tamable creatures are ranked based on their total usage over the last 90 days. These rankings determine automatic bonuses applied to each creature's Damage, Damage Resistance, and Healing capabilities when used by players.
The Zoology Menu provides several tools to help players manage their creatures:
- Players can filter creatures by Name or Minimum Taming Skill.
- Players can toggle Show Only Controlled to display only the creatures they currently have active.
- Sorting options allow viewing by Alphabetical Order or by Creature Class (e.g., Attack Class, Utility Class).
Zoology Stable Slots
In addition to combat bonuses, the Zoology Guild system allows players to unlock additional Stable Slots by using a diverse range of tamable creatures.
When a player earns gold while using a particular creature type, their Progress with that species is tracked. Once they reach a certain threshold, that creature type is marked as Completed, and the player's maximum Stable Slots increases by one for each completed type.
Players who previously made progress in the Taming Bestiary system will have their completions automatically converted to this system and will retain credit for their prior achievements.
Additional features of the Zoology Stable Slot system include:
- The Hide If Completed button filters out any creature types that have already been completed.
- Players can view the specific Zoology Guild Bonuses applied to each of their creatures in the Details page of the Animal Lore Menu.
- Players who wish to disable Zoology Bonuses for all of their tamed followers can uncheck the Enabled button.
