Loot refers to the items obtained from various activities in Outlands, primarily killing creatures, opening chests, and engaging in naval combat. Loot is generally categorized into regular loot (common items like Gold, reagents), special loot (less common items like Aspect Cores, Skill Mastery Scrolls), and rare loot (valuable items like Mastercrafting Diagrams, Collectable Cards).
Several systems provide bonuses that can independently increase the quantity or chance of obtaining items within these categories:
- Region Bonus: Increases Gold and Special Loot chance based on activity in specific map regions.
- Guild Favor: Increases Gold, Special Loot chance, and Rare Loot chance based on active Guild Favors.
- Mastery Chain: Specific links can enhance Gold drop amounts, Special Loot chance, and Rare Loot chance.
- Fortune Aspect: Provides bonuses to Gold drop amounts, Special Loot chance, and Rare Loot chance based on Aspect Tier.
- Event Bonus: Temporary server-wide events may boost loot rewards.

Bonuses to Loot Sources
Different loot sources are affected by player bonuses based on specific criteria:
Loot Source | Bonuses Applied | Criteria for Bonus Application |
---|---|---|
Creatures | Mastery Chain Links Fortune Aspect Region Bonuses Guild Favors |
Bonuses are determined by all players who damaged the creature. The system likely averages or aggregates these bonuses. (Exact formula needs confirmation). |
NPC Ship Holds | Mastery Chain Links Fortune Aspect Region Bonuses Guild Favors |
Bonuses are determined by the player who is the Captain of the player ship dealing the killing blow or significant damage. Multiple player ship captains involved might increase loot similarly to creature loot. |
Salvage Crates | Mastery Chain Links Fortune Aspect Region Bonuses Guild Favors |
Bonuses are determined by the player who fished up the creature (e.g., Water Elemental from an SOS) that dropped the Salvage Crate. |
Treasure Chests Dungeon Chests |
Mastery Chain Links Fortune Aspect Harvest Aspect Region Bonuses Guild Favors |
Bonuses are determined by the player who successfully completes the lockpicking of the chest. |
Progressive Loot
Note: Creatures on the Test Shard are NOT affected by Progressive Loot Bonuses.
Dungeon and Wilderness creatures accumulate a Progressive Loot bonus the longer they remain alive.
- Bonus Accumulation: +5% per hour the creature is alive.
- Maximum Bonus: +250% (after 50 hours).
- Effect: Increases the amount of Gold dropped and improves the chance of receiving Special Loot and Rare Loot.
- Stacking: This bonus stacks multiplicatively with all other loot bonuses (Guild Favor, Fortune Aspect, etc.).
- Exemptions: Ocean creatures (from Fishing SOS/MiBs, Ship Combat) and New Player Dungeon creatures do not benefit from Progressive Loot.
Example: A creature that normally drops 100 gold and has been alive for 10 hours (accumulating a +50% bonus) will drop 150 gold (100 * 1.50) before other modifiers are applied.
