Summary
The Redline System allows high-end players to continue progressing their Aspect Tiers, Mastery Chains, and Stat Caps beyond normal limits. Players earn Experience and unlock Redline Points, which they can spend on various Redline Upgrades. All experience and Redline Points are shared account-wide, meaning any character on the same account benefits from them.

Players can access the Redline menu by typing [Redline in the chat or by navigating to the Paperdoll menu: Help Menu -> Redline.
The Redline System is an end-game progression system allowing dedicated players to push beyond the standard limits of Aspect Tiers, Mastery Chain Links, and certain Stat Caps. Players earn Redline Experience through various activities, which allows them to unlock Redline Points. These points can then be spent on powerful, account-wide upgrades.

Redline Requirements
Players can begin earning Redline Experience and purchasing Redline Upgrades once they have met at least one of the following conditions:
To begin earning Redline Experience and purchasing upgrades, a player's account must meet at least one of the following conditions:
*  Have unlocked at least one Aspect to Tier 15.
*  Have unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links.

* Unlocked a Tier 15 Aspect on their account.
Experience Scalars
* Unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links on their account.
The rate at which Redline Experience is earned depends on the player's Experience Scalar. This scalar modifies the base experience gained from activities (based on Gold value, see Redline Experience). The maximum possible Experience Scalar is 100%.

Experience Scalars
There are two ways to increase your Experience Scalar:
The amount of experience a player earns towards the Redline System is affected by their Experience Scalar. This scalar determines how much experience a player gains while earning gold at various locations, with a maximum possible experience scalar of 100%.
1.  Unlock 30 Mastery Chain Links: This automatically grants a 100% Experience Scalar for the Redline System.
2. Reach Tier 15 with Unique Aspects: Each unique Aspect brought to Tier 15 on the account increases the Experience Scalar by 33%.

Having multiple characters reach Tier 15 in the same Aspect does not provide additional scalar increases. Only unique Aspects count.

If a player has unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links, they will automatically receive a 100% Experience Scalar for the Redline System.
Examples:
*  1 unique Tier 15 Aspect = 33% Scalar
*  2 unique Tier 15 Aspects = 66% Scalar
*  3 unique Tier 15 Aspects = 99% (effectively 100%) Scalar

Redline Upgrades
The Upgrades tab in the Redline menu allows players to spend their accumulated Redline Points. Each character on the account can independently allocate the total available points.

Alternatively, a player can increase their Experience Scalar by 33% for each unique Aspect that has reached Tier 15. However, if multiple characters on the same account reach Tier 15 in the same Aspect, it will not count multiple times.

Available upgrades:

Redline Upgrades
Aspect Tier Limit
The Redline menu contains an Upgrades section where players can spend their Redline Points to purchase upgrades. Each character on an account has full access to all Redline Points earned, meaning each character can independently spend the full amount available. Redline Upgrade selections are stored per Echo, meaning switching Echoes will change a character's Redline selections.
*  Increases the maximum unlockable Aspect Tier Level from 15 up to 20.
*  Cost: Varies per tier increase.
*  Requirement: Must have at least one Aspect at Tier 15.
*  Note: Players still need to gather the required Aspect Cores, Aspect Distillations, and Aspect Triumphs for each upgrade from Tier 16-20. No additional Aspect Experience is needed beyond Tier 15 once the limit is raised.

Mastery Chain Link Limit
*  Increases the maximum number of installable Mastery Chain links from 30 up to 50 (max +20 links).
*  Cost: Varies per link increase.
*  Requirement: Must have reached the standard 30-link limit.

Aspect Tier Limit
Swing Speed Cap
This upgrade allows players to unlock Aspect Tier Levels 16-20. Players must still gather the required Cores, Distillations, and Triumphs needed to upgrade each Aspect. However, no additional Aspect Experience is required for Tiers 16-20, and players can upgrade immediately once their Aspect Tier Limit has been increased.
*  Increases the cap for Swing Speed Increase (SSI) bonuses.
*  Default Cap: +50% SSI.
*  Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
*  Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of +60% SSI).
*  Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.

Players can only purchase this upgrade if they already have at least one Aspect at Tier 15.
Mana Refund Chance Cap
*  Increases the cap for Mana Refund Chance bonuses (primarily from Spellbook Potency).
*  Default Cap: +50% Mana Refund Chance.
*  Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
*  Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of +60% Mana Refund Chance).
*  Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.
*  See Overcapping for how excess Mana Refund can translate to damage in PvM.

Damage Resistance Cap
*  Increases the cap for stacking Damage Resistance from various sources (excluding base Armor AR, Magic Resist skill, and Parrying skill). Sources include item properties, Aspects, Codex abilities, etc.
*  Default Cap: 75% Damage Resistance.
*  Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
*  Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of 85% Damage Resistance).
*  Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.

Mastery Chain Link Limit
Redline Experience
This upgrade increases the number of links a player can install into their Mastery Chain by up to 20 additional links (for a total of 50). Players can only purchase this upgrade once they have reached the standard 30-link limit.
Redline Points are earned by accumulating Redline Experience specific to different content locations (Dungeons, Wilderness, Ocean).

Swing Speed Cap
*  Experience is gained by earning Gold from activities like killing monsters, opening treasure chests, and ship activities within those locations.
This upgrade increases the player's Swing Speed Cap, which determines the maximum bonus to melee attack speeds. The default cap is +50%, and each upgrade increases it by 0.5%, up to a maximum of +10%.
*  The experience gained is modified by the player's Experience Scalar.
**  Example: Killing a monster worth 1,000 base Gold Value with a 33% Experience Scalar provides 333 Redline Experience for that monster's location.
*  Once enough experience is gathered at a location to unlock the next point, the "Unlock Point" button becomes available.

*  Clicking the Unlock Point button consumes one Redlightning Bottle and one Redline Certification from the player's backpack.
*  This increases the account-wide "Redline Pts Available" pool.
*  The experience required for the next point at that specific location increases.

Redline Experience
To earn Redline Points, players must first gain Redline Experience by earning gold from activities such as killing monsters, unlocking treasure chests, and performing ship activities. Each location has its own experience requirement for unlocking Redline Points.

The experience gained is modified by the player's Experience Scalar. For example, killing a monster worth 1,000 gold with a 33% Experience Scalar will provide 333 Redline Experience for that location.
Progressive Experience Amounts
The base experience required to unlock the first Redline Point at any location is 5,000,000. Each subsequent point unlocked at that same location increases the requirement:

Once enough experience has been earned at a location, players can unlock a Redline Point. However, doing so requires consuming both a Redlightning Bottle and a Redline Certification, which must be in the player's backpack.

Unlocking a Redline Point increases the "Redline Pts Available" that a player can spend on upgrades. Players can also track the total number of Redline Points they have unlocked for each location. However, each time a Redline Point is unlocked at a specific location, the amount of experience required for the next point at that location increases.

The main Redline System interface.

  • All Redline Experience and Redline Points are shared account-wide. Any character on the account can contribute to earning points, and all characters benefit from the total points unlocked.
  • Redline Upgrade selections, however, are stored per Echo, allowing different setups on different server instances.
  • Access the Redline menu by typing `[Redline` in chat or via the Paperdoll: Help Menu -> Redline.

Redline Requirements

To begin earning Redline Experience and purchasing upgrades, a player's account must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Have unlocked at least one Aspect to Tier 15.
  • Have unlocked 30 Mastery Chain Links.

Experience Scalars

The rate at which Redline Experience is earned depends on the player's Experience Scalar. This scalar modifies the base experience gained from activities (based on Gold value, see Redline Experience). The maximum possible Experience Scalar is 100%.

Redline Experience Scalar display.

There are two ways to increase your Experience Scalar: 1.

Examples:

  • 1 unique Tier 15 Aspect = 33% Scalar
  • 2 unique Tier 15 Aspects = 66% Scalar
  • 3 unique Tier 15 Aspects = 99% (effectively 100%) Scalar

Redline Upgrades

The Upgrades tab in the Redline menu allows players to spend their accumulated Redline Points. Each character on the account can independently allocate the total available points.

Redline Upgrades tab.

Available upgrades:

Aspect Tier Limit

  • Increases the maximum unlockable Aspect Tier Level from 15 up to 20.
  • Cost: Varies per tier increase.
  • Requirement: Must have at least one Aspect at Tier 15.
  • Note: Players still need to gather the required Aspect Cores, Aspect Distillations, and Aspect Triumphs for each upgrade from Tier 16-20. No additional Aspect Experience is needed beyond Tier 15 once the limit is raised.

Mastery Chain Link Limit

  • Increases the maximum number of installable Mastery Chain links from 30 up to 50 (max +20 links).
  • Cost: Varies per link increase.
  • Requirement: Must have reached the standard 30-link limit.

Swing Speed Cap

  • Increases the cap for Swing Speed Increase (SSI) bonuses.
  • Default Cap: +50% SSI.
  • Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
  • Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of +60% SSI).
  • Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.

Mana Refund Chance Cap

  • Increases the cap for Mana Refund Chance bonuses (primarily from Spellbook Potency).
  • Default Cap: +50% Mana Refund Chance.
  • Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
  • Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of +60% Mana Refund Chance).
  • Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.
  • See Overcapping for how excess Mana Refund can translate to damage in PvM.

Damage Resistance Cap

  • Increases the cap for stacking Damage Resistance from various sources (excluding base Armor AR, Magic Resist skill, and Parrying skill). Sources include item properties, Aspects, Codex abilities, etc.
  • Default Cap: 75% Damage Resistance.
  • Upgrade: Each point spent increases the cap by +0.5%.
  • Maximum Increase: +10% (total cap of 85% Damage Resistance).
  • Cost: Varies per 0.5% increase.

Redline Experience

Redline Points are earned by accumulating Redline Experience specific to different content locations (Dungeons, Wilderness, Ocean).

Redline Experience tracking per location.
  • Experience is gained by earning Gold from activities like killing monsters, opening treasure chests, and ship activities within those locations.
  • The experience gained is modified by the player's Experience Scalar.
    • Example: Killing a monster worth 1,000 base Gold Value with a 33% Experience Scalar provides 333 Redline Experience for that monster's location.
  • Once enough experience is gathered at a location to unlock the next point, the "Unlock Point" button becomes available.
Ready to unlock a Redline Point.

Redlightning Bottles

Redlightning Bottle

Redlightning Bottles are consumable items required to unlock Redline Points. They are obtained as rare loot from various high-level activities across Outlands (e.g., Bosses, Treasure Maps, Ship Battles). They must be in the player's backpack to unlock a point.

Redline Certifications

Buying Certifications.

Redline Certifications are consumable items also required to unlock Redline Points. They can be purchased from the Prevalian Merchant under the Miscellaneous category using either Gold or Doubloons (but not Prevalia Coins). They must be in the player's backpack to unlock a point.

Unlocking Redline Points

Unlocking a Redline Point consumes a Bottle and a Certification.
  • Clicking the Unlock Point button consumes one Redlightning Bottle and one Redline Certification from the player's backpack.
  • This increases the account-wide "Redline Pts Available" pool.
  • The experience required for the next point at that specific location increases.
Tracking unlocked points and increasing XP requirements.

Progressive Experience Amounts

The base experience required to unlock the first Redline Point at any location is 5,000,000. Each subsequent point unlocked at that same location increases the requirement:

Progressive Experience Increase per Point
Location Increase per Point Unlocked
Dungeons +1,000,000 XP
Wilderness +1,000,000 XP
Ocean +200,000 XP

Purchasing Redline Upgrades

Spending available Redline Points.
  • The number of Redline Points Available is shown in the top-left of the Redline menu.
  • Each character can spend up to the total number of points available on the account. Points spent by one character do not reduce the pool for others.
  • Upgrade costs are fixed per tier/level and do not increase with multiple purchases.
  • Unavailable upgrades (insufficient points) appear greyed out.
  • Clicking the Upgrade button requires a confirmation click.
Confirming an upgrade purchase.

Resetting Points Spent

Resetting spent Redline Points.
  • Players can reset the Redline Points spent on the current character once every 24 hours.
  • Resetting returns all points spent by that character back to the available pool for reallocation. It does not affect the total points unlocked on the account or points spent by other characters.
  • Certain benefits may be temporarily deactivated until points are reassigned:

Resetting Aspect Tier Limit

  • If points allocated to Aspect Tier Limit are reset, any Aspects currently above Tier 15 will have their Active Tier Level revert to 15.
  • Their Permanent Tier Level (the highest unlocked) remains unchanged.
  • Players cannot benefit from Tiers 16+ until the Aspect Tier Limit upgrade is repurchased.

Resetting Mastery Chain Link Limit

  • If points allocated to Mastery Chain Link Limit are reset while more than 30 links are installed, the Mastery Chain menu will show a WARNING: LINK LIMIT EXCEEDED message.
  • All Mastery Chain bonuses will be disabled until either the excess links are removed or the Link Limit upgrade is repurchased to cover the installed links.

Redline Trophies

Redline Trophy display.

Players can earn account-wide Achievement Trophies by unlocking specific numbers of Redline Points at each location (Dungeons, Wilderness, Ocean). Each location has five ranks of trophies, displayed in the Redline menu.
