This page details the new Aspects (Arcane, Frost, Madness, Lightning) and changes to existing Aspects introduced with the Wildlands Expansion (May 19, 2024).
Aspect Gear Updates
Aspect Weapons
- Now provide a base bonus of +10% Accuracy (was 0%).
- Now provide a base bonus of +10 Tactics (was 0).
Aspect Spellbooks
- Now provide a base bonus of +10% Mana Refund Chance (was 0%).
- Bonus per Tier Level increased to +2% Mana Refund Chance (was 1.5%).
- Now provide a base bonus of +10% Spell Damage (was 0%).
- Bonus per Tier Level increased to +2% Spell Damage (was 1.5%).
Aspect Armor
- Now provides a base bonus of +20% Armor Rating (was 0%).
- Bonus per Tier Level changed to +5% (was 8%).
Aspect Support Items (Oils, Foci, Ammo) [Phased Out]
- These items no longer provide bonuses. See #Aspect Crystals below.
- Previous Bonus: +25% Aspect Weapon/Spell Special Chances.
Aspect Crystals
- Aspect Weapon Oils, Aspect Spell Foci, and Aspect Ammo Bundles are replaced by Aspect Crystals.
- Bonuses (Damage Bonus + Aspect Special Chance) now provided by consuming Aspect Crystals of the matching Aspect from the player's backpack automatically on Melee Attack or Spellcast.
- Consumption rate matches previous Charge loss rate.
- Crafted via Alchemy (Aspect Items category, stacks of 2000).
- Storable in Resource Stockpiles.
- Remaining Oils/Foci/Bundles can be converted to Crystals (1 Crystal per Charge) at Prevalia Exchange Officer.
Arcane Aspect
- New aspect enhancing Arcane Staves mechanics for pure spellcasters.
Arcane Aspect Armor
- **Increase to Arcane Buildup Bonuses:** Damage and Damage Resistance bonuses from Arcane Buildup increased by (20% * (6% * Tier Level)) of normal.
- **HP Recovered Per Mana Cost of Damaging Spell:** Recover health = (Mana Cost * (10% * (3% * Tier Level))). Occurs even on Mana Refund. (In PvP, this becomes Damage Resistance vs creatures: (3% * (1% * Tier Level))).
- **Chance to Ignore Arcane Buildup Decay:** (12% * (4% * Tier Level)) chance.
Arcane Aspect Weapon/Spellbook
- **Aspect Special Effect: Mana Thief:**
* Inflicts (500 + (50 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within 3 tiles. * Additionally, for 60 sec, Arcane Staff hits have (12% * (4% * Tier Level)) chance to restore 10 Mana (effect can stack).
Frost Aspect
- New aspect focused on building Chill Effects for damage bonuses.
Frost Aspect Armor
- **Chill Effect Applied Per Damage:** Damage inflicted applies (.006% * (.002% * Tier Level)) Chill Effect (lasts 5 min). Chill increases damage dealt by player/followers.
- **Increase to Max Chill Effect:** Max Chill Effect on creatures increased by (8% + (0.8% * Tier Level)) (base max is 20%).
- **Frost Shell Cooldown:** If reduced below 50 Health, Frost Shell triggers (lasts 5s, prevents dropping below 50 Health). Cooldown before next trigger: (30 - (1 * Tier Level)) seconds.
Frost Aspect Weapon/Spellbook
- **Aspect Special Effect: Ice Blast:** (Formerly Water Aspect's special)
* Inflicts (600 + (60 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within 6 tiles. * Applies Chill Effect of (6% * (0.6% * Tier Level)) for 5 min to creatures hit.
Madness Aspect
- New aspect focused on high damage output at the cost of player health loss.
Madness Aspect Armor
- **Damage Bonus:** All player Damage increased by (15% * (4% * Tier Level)).
- **Chance Per Sec to Lose Health After Dealing Dmg:** For 30s after dealing damage, (3.0% * (1.0% * Tier Level)) chance each second to lose 5 Health (unpreventable, ignores DR). Changing Aspect/Tier during this window uses the highest Tier active in the last 30s for checks.
Madness Aspect Weapon/Spellbook
- **Aspect Special Effect: Mania:**
* Lose (7.5 + (1.5 * Tier Level)) health (unpreventable, ignores DR). (Note: Source text says 5 + (1 * Tier Level), but image shows 7.5 + (1.5 * Tier Level). Using image value.) * Inflicts (1100 + (110 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within 4 tiles.
Lightning Aspect
- New aspect focusing on arcing damage and Shock debuffs.
Lightning Aspect Armor
- **Chance on Melee/Spell to Arc:** (7.5% + (2.5% * Tier Level)) chance [scaled by Speed/Mana Cost] to arc to random target within 6 tiles (was 4) for 50% Damage. 50% chance to arc again, repeating until failure. Can hit same target multiple times (cumulative 33% damage penalty after first hit). If no other targets, arcs again on current target.
- **Chance on Arc to Shock:** Creatures hit by Arc have (9% + (3.0% * Tier Level)) chance to be Shocked.
- **Shock Effect:** Entangled for 3s, Player Damage vs target +50% for 5s (no stack).
- **Volt Shield Cooldown:** First damage taken every (30 - (1 * Tier Level)) seconds triggers Volt Shield: 1s Hinder to adjacent creatures, reduces further damage taken to 1 for 3s.
Lightning Aspect Weapon/Spellbook
- **Aspect Special Effect: Sky Bolt:**
* Inflicts (600 + (60 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within 3 tiles. * Creatures hit have (9% + (3.0% * Tier Level)) chance to be Shocked (see effect above).
- Fixed issue with Shock damage bonus not applying correctly.
Existing Aspects
Water Aspect
- Previous "Ice Storm" special moved to Frost Aspect.
- New Special: Tidal Boon.
Water Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- **Aspect Special Effect: Tidal Boon:**
* Inflicts (700 + (70 * Tier Level)) damage divided among creatures within 4 tiles. * Clears all Poison, Bleed, and Disease effects on Player and nearby Followers.
Gadget Aspect
Gadget Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- Can now trigger when detonating Ground Traps.
- Banked damage bonuses now stack.
- Bonuses from Support Items (now Crystals) and Mastery Chains determined by currently equipped item (Weapon or Spellbook) at time of detonation.
Gadget Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Trap Damage Bonus: (15% + (5% * Tier Level)) * Trap Cooldown Reduction: (1.2 sec + (0.4 sec * Tier Level)) * Damage Resist for 15 sec After Trap Detonation: (5% + (1.5% * Tier Level))
Artisan Aspect
Artisan Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Crafting Skill Worn Equipment Bonus: (30% + (10% * Tier Level)) * Repair Kit Boosts Target's Damage (20 min): (2.0% + (0.75% * Tier Level)) * Exceptional Crafting Chance Bonus: (5% + (1.5% * Tier Level))
- **Repair Kit Boost:** Using Repair Kit on a player increases their damage dealt by the specified amount for 20 min. Target must stay within 50 tiles of Artisan. Bonus requires Artisan Armor active.
Artisan Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- **Aspect Special Effect: Fortify:**
* Inflicts (500 + (50 * Tier Level)) damage to target. * Grants Damage and Damage Resistance bonus of (5% + (0.5% * Tier Level)) to friendly players within 12 tiles for 30 seconds (no stack).
Death Aspect
Death Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Effective Necromancy Skill Bonus: (6 + (2 * Tier Level)) * Chance for Bonus Unholy Symbol on Tick: (20% + (4% * Tier Level)) * Chance to Inflict Disease on Melee or Spell: (5% + (1.5% * Tier Level))
- **Chance to Inflict Disease:** Applies Disease effect dealing 50% of Hit/Spell damage every 5s for 20s.
Death Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- **Aspect Special Effect: Decay:**
* Inflicts (1000 + (100 * Tier Level)) Disease damage to target over 20 seconds. * Your Undead followers prevented from undead decay for 30 seconds.
Holy Aspect
Holy Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Effective Chivalry Skill Bonus: (6 + (2 * Tier Level)) * Chance for Bonus Holy Symbol on Tick: (20% + (4% * Tier Level)) * Holy Shield Chance on Melee or Spell (scaled by speed/mana): (7.5% + (2.5% * Tier Level))
- **Holy Shield Chance:** Applies Holy Shield effect preventing up to 15 damage within next 10 seconds (no stack).
Holy Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- **Aspect Special Effect: Judgment:**
* Inflicts (600 + (60 * Tier Level)) damage to target. * Applies Holy Shield on friendly players within 12 tiles preventing up to (15 + (1.5 * Tier Level)) damage within 30 seconds (can stack).
Lyric Aspect
Lyric Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Effective Barding Skill Bonus: (6 + (2 * Tier Level)) * Damage Bonus to Barded Targets: (6% + (2% * Tier Level)) * Bard Reset/Break Ignore Chance: (7.5% + (2.5% * Tier Level))
- **Bard Reset:** Functions like Mastery Chain link, potentially removing skill cooldown. Multiple sources checked independently.
- **Resolving Barding Breaks:** If multiple bards have effects and Ignore Chance, each source (Lyric Aspect, Mastery Chain) resolves separately using the highest effect among active bards.
Earth Aspect
Earth Aspect Armor
- Now provides:
* Chance to Increase Melee/Spell Damage by 250%: (5% + (1.5% * Tier Level)) * Damage Resistance While Above 33% HP or Stationary for 3 sec: (6% + (2% * Tier Level)) * Damage Resistance Max Cap Increase: (2% + (0.75% * Tier Level))
Void Aspect
Void Aspect Weapon/Spellbook Special
- **Aspect Special Effect: Claws of the Abyss:**
* Inflicts (600 + (60 * Tier Level)) Damage to target. * Player gains bonuses of (15% + (1.5% * Tier Level)) Damage AND (15% + (1.5% * Tier Level)) Damage Resistance against that target for 15 seconds.
