Landscaping Tiles are single-tile decorative items primarily used within player Houses to simulate different types of ground cover and terrain, such as water, grass, snow, or dirt. They allow for creative customization of indoor and outdoor housing areas.

Acquisition

The main source for Landscaping Tiles is the Prevalian Merchant. Players can find a variety of tile types available for purchase under the Landscaping category. Each purchase typically yields one tile. Recent updates have expanded the selection available from the merchant.

Functionality

Landscaping Tiles are placed on the ground within a house like other decorative items. Some types, particularly newer additions like Dirt and Translucent Water Tiles, offer enhanced visual options:

  • Rotation: Certain tile types can be rotated through numerous visual styles to create varied patterns and appearances. This is confirmed for Dirt Tiles and Translucent Water Tiles.
  • Translucency: Specific tiles, like the Translucent Water Tile, allow partial visibility of objects or flooring placed underneath them.

Storage

To help manage potentially large quantities of these tiles, players can use a Landscaping Tilebox, a specialized container designed for storing Landscaping Tiles purchased from the Prevalian Merchant.

Tile Types

While the Prevalian Merchant offers various types, some notable examples include:

  • Water Tiles (various types)
  • Blood Tiles
  • Snow Tiles
  • Grass Tiles (various types)
  • Swamp Tiles

Recently Added Types

The following types were added alongside the Landscaping Tilebox:

Dirt Tile

Example appearance of Dirt Tiles.

These tiles simulate patches of dirt or earth. They can be rotated through a large number of visual styles, offering significant flexibility in creating patterns and textures.

Translucent Water Tile

Example appearance of Translucent Water Tiles, showing partial visibility.

This type of water tile is unique in that it allows objects beneath it to be partially seen. Like the Dirt Tile, it can also be rotated through many different visual styles to simulate various water effects (ripples, edges, etc.).
