Players who commit criminal actions (such as attacking a blue player, looting a blue player's corpse, or healing a grey/red player/creature) will receive a notification informing them of their criminal act. While a player has an active criminal timer (typically two minutes), they will always flag as grey, even to their own guild members, and are subject to certain restrictions.
Previously, dying would immediately clear a player's criminal flag, but now, players must wait the full two-minute duration for the flag to expire. This change addresses several notoriety and flagging issues. Additionally, when a player commits a criminal action, the system will now specify the victim, such as: "You have committed a criminal act! (corpse looting on Luthius)"
To prevent excessive system message spam, if a player is already criminal, they will not receive additional notifications for subsequent criminal actions until their criminal timer expires.
Restrictions While Criminal:
- Players flagged as Criminal cannot use the Hiking feature of the World Atlas.
- Criminal players may be freely attacked by anyone without consequence to the attacker.
- Guards in guarded towns will attack Criminal players on sight.
Dispelling Murderer/Criminal Followers:
- Dispelling or attempting to dispel a Murderer or Criminal player's Summoned Follower using the Dispel or Mass Dispel spells will now correctly flag the caster as being attackable (grey) by the Murderer/Criminal owner for the next 2 minutes. This allows the owner to retaliate against the dispeller without becoming criminal themselves.
